How Can We Help?
2. Restaurant Setup
Restaurant Setup
This section will help you get started with setting up your Restaurant, Recipes, Ingredients which are mandatory to allow Cuismo’s start receiving orders.
If you haven’t set up your site yet, please follow the instructions here.
Cuismo’s building blocks
The main flow of Cuismo consists of adding or receiving new orders to the system and then managing their preparation. In order to create a manual order in Cuismo an active menu must be defined. Menu consists of menu items which are either Recipes or Supplied items. The main difference between recipes and supplied items is that recipes consist of ingredients while supplied items are defined as is (such as a can of Coke). It is possible to define all menu items as supplied items giving up ingredient control, its supply management, nutritional values and more.
In order to define our 1st recipe, we would need to define the ingredients it consists of.
Ingredients can be found under Settings->Ingredients.
On the ingredients screen, you can quick-search out of thousands of ingredients Cuismo is already familiar with. If you cannot locate your ingredient you can always insert one manually and pick a short name for it.
When Finished adding your ingredient press the Add [+] button.
Note: if you add an unfamiliar ingredient the system wont be able to calculate the correct nutritional values.
Try to add, “pasta dry enriched” and name it shorty, “pasta”. Press the Add button to add the ingredient. Then search for “Tomato sauce”, pick “Tomato sauce, canned, no salt added” and name it “Tomato Sauce”. You are ready to create your first Recipe.
Creating a Recipe
Click Settings->Recipes on the left menu and then Add [+] near the Recipe title to add a new recipe. Name it Tomato pasta, add a short description (optional) and click the Add button.
Once added you should be able to create its steps in the steps panel. Add Pasta as ingredient with 200g, and Tomato Sauce with 20g. Your Recipe should look similar to the screen below.
Creating a supplied item
We have showed in the previous section how to create a recipe from ingredients. However, some of our menu items are sold as is, such as can of soda. We would like to add those items to our menu as well, so they could be ordered as well by our clients. In order to do so, we must first define them as an item which is being delivered by a supplier.
Under Setting pick Suppliers, and create a new supplier with its details.
Once you have your supplier data inserted, you are ready to define its supplies. Click on the Items button and you will enter the supplier’s supplied item page. Here you can either define a supplied item as a menu item or as an ingredient. Add Coke and make sure to mark it as a menu item.
Creating your menu
Now that you have both your Tomato Sauce recipe and your Coke ready, you can create your first menu. Go to DSP & Website -> Menu Builder and add two menu sections. One for “Main Course” and the other for “Drinks”. Feel free to add an image to the section from your computer or from by searching our free image gallery.
Note: Section images may show on your partner DSP but will not show on your generated website.
Click on the Edit [pencil] button now, to add an item for each section. Add the Tomato Pasta under main course, add its price, and make sure to pick the right recipe from the Recipe pull down. It should show the pasta recipe if you created the recipe correctly. This menu definition will determine how your menu item will be called, what would be its pricing, its even, and even its potential modifications.
If you wish to add the drinks as well, go back to the section names, either by using the bread crumbs at the top or using the menu builder menu item. Note that when the Coke is added to your menu, under the drinks section, you need to pick the Menu options pull down instead of the recipe pull down since the coke is not being prepared as a recipe with ingredients included.
Congratulations.
You are ready to accept your first order.
